creating an estimate

To create an estimate, click the “New Estimate” button on any of the work related pages.

We need to know 4 things: the customer, the vehicle, the work required to be done and when the vehicle is available for the work to be done, and maybe if there are any special requirements that will be stored as notes.

Your progress for entering this information is shown in the progress bar at the top of the panel.

If, at any time, you want to cancel out of creating an estimate, click the ‘x’ in the top right corner.

First, enter the CUSTOMER information

Enter the phone number in to the field and click ‘Lookup’.

If the customer is returning, their name and contact email will be displayed.

If it is a new customer, you can add their name and email address to the system. Save their details so we can track them as a prospect if they decide not to work with you now.

Click Next to go to the next section.

secondly, select the car to be worked on from the drop downs

We have compiled an extremely comprehensive data base of car makes and models. If for whatever reason, you are creating an estimate for a vehicle that doesn’t appear, there is the “Other Car” option in the vehicle make drop down.

Click “Next” to continue with the estimate creation.

THIRDLY, enter the work you need done

Screen Shot 2021-03-16 at 9.17.41 PM.png

From the Pick Service drop downs, pick each service you need to be done, and click ‘Add Service”.

To create a custom estimate for a service that is not shown in the list, select the “Custom” element in the services dropdown. This will allow you to enter a custom price and duration for the service.

To remove a selected service from the list, click the radio button to the left of the list item.

These services displayed here are custom to you and your shop. If they don’t look correct, please reach out to us at help@jobvious.com to fix it for you.

The page won’t allow you to pick duplicates, and has some intelligence built in to replace services that are included in others. Example: Adding Window Tint to the whole vehicle will replace window tint for the front or rear if they are already on the request.

In addition, if you try to add a service that is included in one that is already selected, you won’t be able to add it. Example: Window Tint for the whole vehicle is already selected, and you try to add Window Tint for the front. That would be duplicated, and therefore not included in the request.

The system will total up the time and total for the overall request. You may need to scroll down to see the job total and duration. At least one service must be selected.

When you are done, click “Next”.

FOURTHLY, Add notes about the job if need be

If there are any specifics about the job that you need to remember, you can add them here in the Notes section. Don’t let the size of the box fool you…. Type what you need to in there, we’ll capture them. Click “Save Notes” to make sure they are captured with the estimate.

lastly, pick the date that the car is available to be dropped off

Screen Shot 2021-03-16 at 9.29.33 PM.png

Selecting this drop down will allow you to see quickly what your current calendar looks like when compared to the amount of work required by the job. If there isn’t enough capacity on a day to tackle the new work, you won’t be able to select the date. Select the date that the vehicle can be dropped off

Click “Create Estimate“ and the system will schedule the work on your calendar to give you a final end date when the car can be ready and generate a complete estimate. We look where there is time to handle all the services on your job as efficiently as possible.

This will create the Estimate that you can confirm with your customer, and it will be displayed in the “Requestimates” list.
